Increasing Access to Primary Care

Access to primary care has been a hot-button issue in health care reform.  WakeMed is pleased to announce that Monday marked opening day for Falls Pointe Medical Group, a four-physician primary care practice that greatly increased access to primary care for patients in Northern Wake County.

  1. Access to primary care means, not only the availability of primary care physicians, but also financial access. There is little point to having more doctors if people such as waitresses, construction workers and others(in these very necessary professions)who generaly don’t have health coverage can not afford to visit their practices.
